Rollcage Certification for 2026

As we continue to integrate some new safety rules into the OTTPA classes we will be confirming that all rollcages meet SFI 47.1A and 47.2A specs for large tractors and 47.3A for mini-rods. This includes how the NTPA and OTTPA rule books require a cage to be mounted to a chassis. Both rule books contain the same rules and requirements related to cages and mounting. Please refer to section 21.4 in the OTTPA rule book for all rules and regulations related to rollcages and mounting.

Certification Sticker

To keep things simple and clear we have selected that the NTPA rollcage sticker will be the only certification sticker that is accepted moving forward. The certification sticker will be good for a period of 5 years. If a cage currently has a valid and in-date NTPA certification sticker that sticker will be honored and no further action is needed. Any rollcage that does not have a valid NTPA certification sticker will need to have the rollcage and mounting inspected, once passed the cage will receive the NTPA rollcage certification sticker.

We have started inspecting a few rollcages that had previously passed OTTPA inspection ahead of the season and found a few small issues here and there that would prevent the cage from passing the new inspection process. We will be asking competitors to address these issues before we supply them with the NTPA rollcage certification sticker to apply to their cage. These competitors will be provided with an OTTPA inspection sticker that will need to be in place until the changes are completed. Please note, if you had a rollcage that passed inspection in 2025, you will be allowed to pull in 2026. We are giving the 2026 pulling season to get any necessary changes made to meet the full requirements to get a rollcage NTPA certified. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Ryan Boysen, 712-880-0178, he is now our OTTPA Certified Rollcage Inspector.

If a vehicle needs changes, we encourage a competitor to get the changes done as quickly as possible during the season. We do recognize that there may be changes that can’t be done quickly, therefore we are allowing a grace period for the 2026 pulling season. Starting in 2027 all vehicles will need to have a valid in-date NTPA rollcage certification sticker in place to be able to compete.

Certification Process

Inspections will take place at the first few pulls of the season, including Rock Valley, IA. We expect a high number of cages will need to be inspected early in the season. We encourage pullers that might be in close proximity to each other to coordinate and gather their vehicles at a single location prior to the season to allow an inspection to be completed more efficiently in one place to save some time later. Please coordinate this with Ryan Boysen.

Certification Fee

Outlaws have not charged for a rollcage certification in the past. Now that the inspection and certification will also be valid for NTPA competition we will be charging a $50 fee for the certification during the 2026 pulling season. The certification will be good for 5 years. This is a discounted rate from the normal fee that is charged by NTPA. If the cage was initially inspected in 2026 but updates or changes were needed and those updates were not done until the 2027 pulling season, the $50 fee will be honored for a passed inspection in 2027.

Seatbelt / Driver Restraint

A reminder that you will need to make sure that you have a SFI 16.1 five-point driver restraint installed if your vehicle requires a roll cage. These driver restraints should be in good working condition with no defects. The expiration date on them will not be enforced but you may be asked to replace them if a tech official determines that they would not work properly.

NTPA / OUTLAW MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

For 2026, participants that hold a valid competition license for the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) or a competition license for Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pulling (OTTPA) may crossover and enter events on either series without purchasing an additional license. One license is valid for both sanctioning bodies creating the largest roster of national events the sport of pulling has ever seen under one competition license.

To accumulate season points and be eligible for year-end funds on either series, the vehicle(s) must also be registered for the specific series of participation. If you wish to collect NTPA Grand National or Regional points, your vehicle(s) must be registered with NTPA. If you wish to collect Outlaw Series points, your vehicle(s) must be registered with OTTPA. But you will not be required to purchase an additional competition license.

Please note that participation in NTPA Grand National events does require entry in advance through the “NTPA” app, available through the app store on your phone. All Grand National entries must be received by 12pm EST on Monday prior to the event. For OTTPA events, you can register at any time using the “Outlaw Pulling” app which is also available through the app store on your phone, or register on-site at the OTTPA entry trailer.

TTTPA Becomes Member OTTPA Organization

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TTTPA Joins Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association as Member Organization

The Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association (OTTPA) is proud to announce that, effective March 30, 2026, the Texas Truck and Tractor Pulling Association (TTTPA) has officially become a new member organization of OTTPA.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in strengthening the sport of truck and tractor pulling by expanding opportunities for competitors and building more unified pulling organizations across different regions. By aligning efforts, both organizations are committed to increasing growth, improving competition, and delivering a stronger experience for members and fans alike.

“We are excited to have the TTTPA and their members as part of the Outlaw family,” said Kyle Petsch, Chief Operating Officer of OTTPA. “The state of Texas has many great pullers, and we look forward to working with TTTPA to grow the sport of truck and tractor pulling in Texas. TTTPA joining the OTTPA and the OTTPA being owned by Full Pull Entertainment/NTPA, provides TTTPA access and support from the largest sanctioning body in pulling. This coalition makes the organization even larger. United, pulling is in a better place.”

The addition of TTTPA supports OTTPA’s long-term vision of expanding its footprint while maintaining the consistency, structure, and competitive integrity that members expect. This collaboration will provide increased access to larger and more diverse events, along with new opportunities for competitors at all levels.

TTTPA leadership also expressed strong enthusiasm about the future of the partnership.

“I strongly believe this membership will bring significant benefits to our association, our members, and the upcoming pulling season,” said Wayne Wienecke, President of TTTPA. “By combining resources, talent, and opportunities, we are positioning TTTPA for growth, increased competition, and long-term success.”

This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both OTTPA and TTTPA, as they work together to grow and strengthen the sport of truck and tractor pulling for years to come.

Formal Acquisition Discussions

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

12/23/2025

World Pulling International (WPI), the management body of the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA), along with the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association (OTTPA), and Full Pull Entertainment (Full Pull LIVE), jointly announce that they are actively engaged in negotiations that will ultimately bring both pulling organizations under a single unified umbrella.

It is critically important to emphasize that there will be no changes to competition structures, rules, schedules, event formats, or day-to-day operations for either group during the 2026 season or at any time in the immediate future. Both the NTPA and the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association will continue to operate independently and conduct business as usual in 2026, consistent with how each has operated in 2025 and previously.

While certain details of the overall agreement are still being finalized, the direction and intent of this process are clear. All parties are moving forward together in good faith and with full alignment on the outcome. This is a deliberate step forward designed to strengthen the sport with stability, consistency, and confidence for all competitors, promoters, and fans that make the sport of pulling the special experience that it is.

This announcement represents a historic moment for truck and tractor pulling. Additional information will be shared at the appropriate time once final agreements are complete. Until then, all three groups remain fully focused on delivering successful seasons, strong events, and a stable, unified future for the growth of the sport.

OTTPA – IHRA Alliance Statement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-

Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association Statement:

Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling would like to address its fans, members, competitors, officials, associates, partners, and sponsors.

After extensive time, thoughtful deliberation, and meaningful discussion within our organization and in collaboration with trusted business partners, industry contributors, leadership, and outside counsel, we have made the decision to withdraw from the planned future partnership and ownership arrangement with IHRA.

We firmly believe that the strength of Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling lies in its people, its stability, and its current trajectory. Our focus moving forward is on a growth path that is both sustainable and attainable, driven by our commitment to succeed as an industry. We recognize that this goal is best achieved with the continued support and passion of those who are deeply invested in the future direction of our sport.

We sincerely thank IHRA for the collaboration and renewed energy they brought to discussions surrounding the growth and sustainability of truck and tractor pulling. We look forward to remaining engaged with the broader Pulling industry as it continues to evolve, and we are enthusiastic about the role Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling will play in that future.

Gracious Regards,
